Blackjack Tournament Nights

Following a lot of requests we now have pleasure in offering our unique blackjack tournaments.  As we can cater for any number of your guests using this format it has become one of our most popular events.

Guests arrive to play at the tables and then compete against each other to accumulate the largest stack of chips.  At the end of the session whoever has the most chips books a place in the grand final.  Following several rounds of tournament play we gather all of the winners and invite them to compete for the title of grand champion and something money can't buy - the title of Champion Gambler!!

The Games you can play

Roulette

is an easy game for the novice gambler with simple betting patterns and odds. The pace of the game is well suited to those unfamiliar with casino games. Betting on a single number pays 35 to 1, on two numbers it's 17 to 1 and so on down to even money for black/red, odds and evens. Nothing is more simple than Roulette, with the excitement of your bet hinging on the turn of a wheel.

Blackjack

is basically a variation on the popular pontoon or '21'. The game is suited to both novice and experienced players alike. In blackjack you are betting against the dealer and all the cards are turned face up as you go along.

Only the dealer has one card face down, which is turned up after everyone's hands have been completed. If you have a better hand than the dealer then you win! A simple game to play but one that can have the nerves jangling!

Poker

is a game of chance. However, when you introduce the concept of betting, poker gains quite a bit of skill and psychology. This isn't to say that there isn't skill at poker when nothing is at risk, there just isn't nearly as much.

Poker is played with a standard pack of 52 cards. (Some variant games use multiple packs or add a few cards called jokers.) The cards are ranked (from high to low) Ace, King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, Ace. All four suits are used however, no suit is higher than another. All poker hands contain five cards, the highest hand wins.

How many tables am I likely to need?

This is not always easy to forecast, as it depends on what else is going on at your party. Based on experience, two tables would cater for around 50 or so guests, remembering that depending on your group, not everyone may want to play (although they often do) and that most will probably not play for the whole session, thus making way for other waiting players. The actual number of players on a Roulette table at any one time is about 14 or so and on a blackjack table there are 7 places, although double betting can take this up to 14 at a very busy event. Any doubts about table numbers just call us for a chat.
